Jnana Yoga is operated by Spark Streaming Inc., based in Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at info@streamspark.ca.
This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who processes it, and how you can delete it.
Account data: Your email address and name are provided by your sign-in provider when you create an account. The platform (Base44) manages authentication.
Profile data you enter: First name, last name, date of birth, city, country, and spiritual preferences (what you are seeking, preferred experience type, texts of interest, reminder preference).
Journey data: Your selected deity, teaching progress, completed teachings, and streak count.
Practice and journal entries: The commitments you write after each teaching's practice prompt, and any journal entries you create.
AI questions and history: The questions you ask in Ask Dharma and the conversation history between turns, so follow-up answers have context.
Saved items: Reels, teachings, wisdom cards, AI answers, and guidance you bookmark, stored in your personal library.
Community interactions: Likes and comments you post on reels.
Subscription status: Whether you have an active Premium subscription, updated via Stripe webhooks.
Location data: When you request a Mandir search, your device's precise GPS coordinates are sent to Google Places API to find nearby Hindu temples. Your coordinates are used for that single search and are not stored in our database.
Analytics: We track usage events such as "question asked" and "checkout started" to understand app engagement. These events may be associated with your account or device. The native app wrapper and its embedded SDKs may also collect diagnostics, device identifiers, and product interaction data as described below.
When you ask a question in Ask Dharma, your question and your recent conversation history are sent to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o) to generate a scripture-grounded answer. The response is returned to you and is not stored by us unless you choose to save it to your library.
When you generate a Dharma Vision, your practice commitments are sent to OpenAI's API to synthesize personalized guidance. The generated guidance is saved to your account so you can revisit it.
Before your first question or guidance generation, the app asks for your explicit consent to send your data to OpenAI. You can decline without losing access to other features.
OpenAI processes these as API calls. We do not control OpenAI's data retention practices; see OpenAI's privacy policy for details.
Premium subscriptions ($10.00/month) and optional donations are processed by Stripe on our website. Stripe receives your email and payment details; we receive only the subscription status and customer email.
On the iOS native app, subscription checkout is not available inside the app. Existing subscribers retain full access on all devices after signing in. New subscriptions are available on our website.
Apple In-App Purchase is not used for Premium subscriptions.
Push notifications have been enabled in the native app build. The platform may register a device token for your device to enable future notifications. No app notification campaign is currently implemented, and we are not actively sending push notifications at this time. If we begin sending notifications, you can manage notification permissions in your device settings at any time.
Base44 — App hosting, database storage, and user authentication.
OpenAI — AI-powered scripture Q&A and dharma guidance generation.
Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions and donations.
Your sign-in provider (e.g., Google) — Used for authentication only.
Google Places API — Used to find nearby Hindu temples when you request a Mandir search. Your precise GPS coordinates are sent to Google to retrieve temple locations for that search.
The native iOS and Android app wrappers include third-party SDKs that may collect the following data types, as declared in the app's privacy manifests:
• Sentry — Crash reports and performance diagnostics to help us identify and fix bugs.
• Google Maps / Places — Map display and nearby temple search. Precise location is sent only when you request a Mandir search.
• Google Sign-In — Authentication. Your name and email are used for sign-in.
• Firebase Installations — A device identifier used by the platform for service delivery.
• reCAPTCHA Enterprise — Fraud and abuse prevention.
• CameraRoll — Access to your photo library when you choose to save or share images or videos to your device.
These SDKs may collect diagnostics, device and user identifiers, product interaction data, and coarse location. The app's privacy manifests do not declare tracking. Not all SDKs are necessarily active in every build; we list them for transparency. The data types above are declared in the native privacy manifests and may be collected by the respective SDK providers under their own privacy policies.
Your data is retained while your account is active.
You can delete your account from the Profile screen in the app. Account deletion removes your profile, saved items, practice entries, journal entries, AI conversations, dharma guidance records, reel likes, reel comments, shareable cards, and user blocks, and submits a request for an administrator to delete your authentication account.
The authentication account record is managed by the Base44 platform and is removed after an administrator processes your deletion request. The status of your request is shown in the app after you initiate deletion.
If you contact us for support, we will use the information you provide to address your request. Support communications are handled via email at info@streamspark.ca.
Jnana Yoga is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
